This motor was built to run on a street railway line between Yuba City and Marysville, California, a distance of 4 miles. After its completion a number of newspaper reporters visited San Leandro to witness its work on a short line of railway built for experimental work. In operation on the Yuba-Marysville line a number of newspapers reported its actual operation a success. (PRP April 8, 1893, EandE April '64, 17). |
